Job Description
Is this new Purchasing Manager role made for you?

You live and breathe the metals industry, and you know where to find the right suppliers. Now, you’re ready for a new challenge—managing a procurement specialist, overseeing supplier conversations, and taking on a more strategic role within a growing business.

Why this role?
Your experience in the metals industry, ideally sheet metal, means as purchasing manager you understand what it takes to guide materials from raw form to a finished product that meets your customer’s exact specifications. As the Purchasing Manager with responsibility for a spend of 3.5 million you’ll ensure the right product arrives on time, at the right price, and to the right spec—something you’re already great at.

Up until now, purchasing has been shared between sales and operations. This is where you step in. You’re a master at juggling multiple tasks, from supplier negotiations to inventory management. Building strong relationships and getting the best deal is your speciality.

Key strengths you’ll bring as purchasing manager:
  • Cost savings
  • Analytical thinking
  • Negotiation skills
  • Forecasting

Not only will you manage purchasing, but you’ll also ensure that products meet the highest quality standards, overseeing checks to guarantee quality for production,  and you will be responsible for ERP and Stock take, managing budget spend etc.
Ideally, you’ll hold CIPS qualifications, though equivalent experience or a degree-level qualification is also welcomed.

As Purchasing Manager, you’ll be joining a company that’s positioned in a competitive market with a robust infrastructure to support growth. The UK leadership team is full of ideas, and they’ll look to you to help bring them to life. If you thrive in an idea-driven, entrepreneurial environment and have a background in procurement and supply chain management, we’d love to hear from you.
This is your chance to take ownership of the procurement strategy, with backing from colleagues in the UK and globally.

What’s on offer?
  • Salary: £45k, plus company bonus scheme
  • Flexible working hours between 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
  • Great benefits including 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
